BIRTH PHOTOGRAPHY OF A
PLANNED C-SECTION

WHY  WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE YOUR C-SECTION PHOTOGRAPHED?

Because this is the birth of your child. This is your story. And every birth story deserves to be documented. In addition, a C-section goes quite quick and afterwards you can hardly remember what happened. It's priceless to be able to look back and see the very first moments of your baby's life. All emotions, all tears. All the little details. And 10 years later when you open your birth album you won't only see your tiny baby, but you'll be also  so proud of yourself because this is definitely not the easy way out and you just did it!

MAC:
THE MOTHER ASSISTED C-SECTION

This is the best development in years: the mother-assisted C-section, a more natural alternative of a traditional C-section. If you choose this option, you'll be actively involved with the birth because you'll lift your baby yourself from your belly and place him/her on your chest for the very first cuddle. How special is that?

And do you know what is even more special? If you can look back on this amazing moment of your life! Luckily, you can opt for a mother assisted C-section in more and more hospitals, such as in my home base Amstelland Hospital in Amstelveen or in the Diakonessenhuis in Utrecht. As a birth photographer, I'm also welcome to the OR in both hospitals to document it for you.

Check the blog, birth film and experience of Laura Ponticorvo's mother assisted C-section here .

COLLABORATIVE
HOSPITALS

More and more hospitals are making it possible to let your C-section documented. Thanks to my 13 years of experience, I have (sometimes exclusive) partnerships with several hospitals in my region. You can always ask your hospital about the possibilities sometimes they will let me join your C-section. If it's not the case in your hospital, you can always switch to a hospital where it's possible. And you certainly wouldn't be the first one. :)

I'm currently welcome in the operating room at the following hospitals:

  • Amstelland Hospital, Amstelveen | also mother assisted C-section

  • Spaarne Gasthuis, Haarlem

  • Diakonessenhuis, Utrecht | also mother assisted C-section

  • Meander Medical Center, Amersfoort
